I am 38 and live in sunny Cairns, Qld, Australia. I've lived here since Sept 2006. I have been married to Ryan since November 2007. He is in the navy, and due to leave in June 2012, and we will then move to our brand new home on the Sunshine Coast. No kids yet, but one very spoilt King Charles called Kimmy.

I began scrapping in January 2008 after getting a heap of wedding photos from the photographer that were 6”x9”, a very unusual size. So I purchase some coloured paper, stickers and an album and started what would become a paper obsession. I was self-taught at first as I didn’t know anyone here who scrapped, but have now made some great friends through this addictive hobby. And also, scrapping would keep me sane when Ryan was away for 3 months at a time.

I am looking forward to being a part of the Scrapjacked team and can’t wait to see what everyone creates.

My name is Jeanenne Gale and I live in a country NSW. I am a full time working mum, happily married to a very patient husband (Troy) and have two beautiful children, Sophie (9) and Harry (3). I have been scrapping on and off for about 7 years and was introduced by to the craft by a friend who did a lot of card making. After losing my mojo and having a big break I have recently rediscovered the joy that scrapbooking brings to me (spurred on by a wonderful friend). For me, scrapbooking is me time! I don’t really have a particular style but I love using different textures as well as splashing around with inks and paints. Hi! I’m Deb. I started scrapbooking around 1999/2000 after looking through a magazine on scrapbooking and wondering what it was all about. Supplies in the local area, at that time, were a little scarce but I ended up finding a store that had some A4 cardstock and some stickers and I was up and running. As with most of us, I look back on my earlier attempts at scrapbooking and can see how much it all has changed (scrapping styles – my style) but in saying that I still love the memories that my older albums hold. I love the idea that I can have such a great creative outlet for myself and know that in the years to come my family will be able to enjoy the memories that I have kept for them. I love distressing and paint and generally getting messy on my layouts but I do love the pretties as well...the lace, the doilies and ribbons. I’ve tried my hand at a lot of different crafts over the years but since starting scrapbooking, these have taken a bit of a backseat and like most of us, I can’t imagine my life without it now.

I am married with 2 adult children and a very proud Grandma to 2 gorgeous girls who appear quite a bit on my layouts. I am so happy to be joining the Scrap Jacked Design Team and would like to thank Bec for inviting me.

My name is Dana Tatar and I am a stay-at-home mom. I have two daughters, Claire (5) and Scarlett (3). I married my high school sweetheart in 2003 and have been happy ever since. I graduated from MSU with a B.S. in Biochemistry and worked in that field for about 3 years before I gave birth to my first daughter and decided to stay home full time. I have had many hobbies over the years, but scrapping is the one that really gives me satisfaction. I started scrapbooking to preserve memories after the birth of my first daughter. I love to mix products from different collections on my layouts and I frequently find inspiration in music, poetry and pop culture. I love fussy cutting and flowers and both can be seen on the majority of my layouts. I would say that my dominant scrappy styles are clean and simple and pretty chic, but I do like to mix things up a bit, depending on the paper or photos I want to use. Hey everyone! My name's Beth Jarrett and I have been scrapping for the last 10 years. I am blessed with three children, who are the subject of most of my scrapping. When I am not scrapping, I like to either sew, knit or crochet. I also like to combine these other crafts into my scrapbooking. My scrapbooking style has always been the same, really. I am a very linear scrapper, I measure everything to the millimetre! I like my pages to be symmetrical. And it will take me sometimes up to a week to create a page. I am a very slow scrapper, which is perfectly fine by me, because most of the time I enjoy the process more than the finished product. Qld Floods - We can help!!!!

I am in such disbelief at the disaster that is unfolding in Queensland at the moment.
I lived in Brisbane for 13 years and am gobsmacked at the water levels and the devastation that has unfortunately put this beautiful place in such a mess.
These places that are affected, just never flood. It's that scary.

Currently, 10 people have lost their lives, 4 of those are children, 70 are still unnaccounted for and thousands have lost their homes.

Most of the families had no time to collect anything and just got out to save their lives.
So there was no time to grab the photos or albums or special memories.

But we as scrapbookers can help these families by providing them with the bases for new memories and the following 2 links are fantastic.

An introduction from Lee-anne and Danny at Scrap Therapy.....................................

Well we certainly know all the DT here very well, with several of the girls being regular contributors to our forum but for the participants who have not discoverd Scraptherapy yet here is the basics.

Danny and I purchased Scraptherapy as a small, pre-existing online store in early July 2008, as a small part-time venture. Since then we have seen amazing growth, now offering over 10,000 products. We have closed our other business to focus wholly on Scraptherapy, opening a Paper Craft Bricks and Mortar store in Babinda, FNQ to run in conjunction with the online site. During the last 2+ years we have learnt a whole load of stuff about e-commerce, scrapbooking, cardmaking and the people who love these hobbies. Although Scraptherapy has continued to grow, Danny and I have just found more hours in the day and it is still a small family owned and operated business.

This January we are very excited to be running away to CHA for the first time, and look forward to coming home with a bundle of exciting new ideas and products to share with you all. The web site will be open for ordering during this time however orders will be sent out in the second week of February when we get back. Orders placed and paid for before the 12th January, 2011 will be sent before we leave. New stock from CHA should start to arrive in early March and we can't wait to see what yummy new goodness is available this time around.

Hi!
I'm Bec, mum of a 10 year old boy and 2 year old girl, married and living in the Yarra Valley in Victoria.
I have been scrapping for about 3 years and having it as my creative outlet, is my addiction as I have always had something arty or crafty on the go since I was a teenager and working in the Photographic Industry for 13 years.

My style of scrapping includes lace, lace, lace {I love lace!!}, ink, distressing, doilies and sometimes paint. I love the vintage colours and patterns and adore Shabby and you will see that influence on my pages.

And I can say that this is one of her favourite days of the year!! How suitable for her introduction!!

Heeeello! I'm Mandy - but mostly known as mandysea. I was on the previous DT of Aussie ScrapJacked and was thrilled when Bec decided to take this fabulous Challenge Blog on and asking me to stay!!

I live on the north coast of Tasmania right on Bass Straight in an old house with a big veranda overlooking the sea with my very camera shy husband and have three beautiful daughters.

My scrappy style could be explained as mainly Shabby and textured with layering. I love to work with paint, crochet doily strips and tissue paper added with laces, trims, fabric then toss in a few buttons.

Hi Fellow Scrapper,
So excited with being apart of the Scrap Jacked DT :)

I live in Baldivis, WA with my husband Jeff and 2 teenage daughters (our adult son lives on the Sunshine Coast). I work during the week managing a child care centre and on weekends we are respite foster carers for children aged 0-5 (we give regular carers a break from fostering).

I have been scrapping for 12 years (started with Creative Memories) but only really discovered scrapbooking 6 years ago. My husband and I have a great deal - whatever he spends on fishing equipment, I can spend on scrapbooking :)

Scrap Style: I like to scrap 8.5x11 or 6x12 layouts (with the occasional 12x12). I like a clean simple design with the photo being the main focus.

Like most of you my main reason for scrapping is for them to have special memories to look back on in the years to come. I know they already love to sit down adn look through the albums that I have created.

I also started dabbling in cardmaking, with the inclusion of stamping/water colouring about 18 months ago and it has very quickly become another addiction.
A lot of my inspiration comes from checking out galleries, blog hopping and playing around with sketches and challenge blogs. There are so many creative, talented scrappers/cardmakers out there.

I am extremely thrilled and proud to be a part of the new Scrap Jacked DT and hope to inspire you along with the other terrific girls on the team in 2011.

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah (aka Byclops). A little about me...I am married, with no kids of the human variety - just a fur baby Bengal cat named Hunter.
I manage a financial planning business (for pay) and my husband's photo retouching business (for love!) and in my spare time I love to scrap, watch dvds and play guitar. My husband Dean & I are obsessed wiht travelling, and have been lucky enough to have some amazing trips the past few years.

Recording these holiday snaps is really what got me in to scrapbooking a few years back and I am so blessed to have me so many wonderful friends through this hobby!
I love to participate in scrapbooking forums and blog challenges.
My scrapbooking style seems to vary from page to page, but in the main it is a "minimalist style" - clean lines, lots of white/negative space, free of clutter, simplistic, and often with some doodling.

I am Mum to two girls, both bundles of energy aged 8 & 10. I always seem to have something crafty on the go, but scrapbooking is my obsession when I can fit it into our crazy schedule.
I like to work in 8x8's and you'll see alot of Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey in my LO at the moment but I also love to use everyday objects on my pages and collect bits and pieces from all over the place.
Inking, laces, buttons, flowers and vintage items usually feature too but above all it's the photos that are always my main focus. I enjoy that the kids enjoy looking at their albums and that we have a reminder of our life so far.

Thank you to Bec for inviting me to join the DT here at SJ, I am honoured to be among such talented artists and can't wait to see how they and you inspire each other.

I'm Vicki and I live in beautiful Far North Queensland.
I'm a mum to two little hooligans, said with love ;), my daughter aged 4 and my little man aged 2 and I've been married to the best man I know for the last 14 years.

Changes, Challenges, New Design Team & more

As we say a sad farewell and a huge thank you to Louise and the ASJ Design Team for all their gorgeous inspiration, I would like to introduce you to the new girls that will be inspiring you all with their gorgeous work.

Over the next 2 weeks I will be introducing you to the new Design Team and their work and a little about them as well the great prizes we have in store for our first challenge and a big welcome to kick off the start of a new era.

Our first challenge as the new Design Team will be posted at the regular date of 5th of the month, so January being our first.

As I sit back and think of when the whole Aussie Scrapjack thing got off the ground (yes, I went back and found the first post where my first ever jack was uploaded - here way back in 2007!!) I have to agree with everyone else - it has certainly been a sensational ride. In fact......I think I actually met Lou through ASJ when she started jacking with us! How cool is that!

Thank you EVERYONE who has been involved in Aussie Scrapjack, I have met so many wonderful people through this site.

WELL WELL WEELLLLL!!!

Did I get a huuuuuuuuuuge shock when I found this!!! Oh and I burst into tears!!!!!! Well wouldnt you!!!! :) :) :) Well I am completely lost for words!!! I was thinking that asking the team choose their own jacks for Chrissy would be awesome!!! so so not expecting that they would do this!!!! Farout!! and what they have created for you/me is just amazing!!! I kinda dont want to upload mine now LOL!!!!

This is an emotional post for me!!! in many ways!!! it will be my last as the blog coordinator.

As of January a faaaaaaabulous new Scrapper will be taking over and introducing you to a new team of awesome and inspiring creatives!! But you will need to wait for her to introduce herself LOL!

In the meantime, I just need to say a few words!!! yeah only a few LOL they dont come easy LOL. From the bottom of my scrappy heart I just want to thank Dee and her team for taking me onto the ASJ team and then allowing me the joy and honour of taking it over!!! It was a scrappy dream of mine to be on the ASJ team!!! I just never thought I would make it LOL let alone run the site as well :) :) :). TO The team members past and present quite simply THANK YOU!!!

You are just wonderful wonderful friends and creatives and I trully appreciate the creative committment that you all made to the ASJ spirit of creativity! You are all so very very ........ Faaaaaaaabulous!!!!
